Happy Akshaya tritiya!;))

My Akshaya tritiya purchases for my kitchen - Small tart/quiche pan, blow torch, adjustable stainless steel flan ring, & zester :)

So what did you buy for this Akshaya tiritiya?

Yesterday, I got a meat thermometer for bread baking from DH and some silicone mini muffin cups for DD's muffins, does that count? Or is that too lame? :)

The instant probe thermometer - I had problem knowing if the bread in the oven was completely done.. I read recently that a instant thermometer (meat thermometer) can be inserted after 35 mins in 350 F oven to check if the bread is done. The temp should register 205-210 F for wheat bread 180-190 for white bread to be done.

I didn't know if instant probe and meat thermometer were the same.. but got it anyway. :) Any ideas?; 4/28/2009 03:07:00 AM

I tried the thermometer yesterday when I baked bread - it worked! :)
