Gulkand
Gulkand
I had read about the health benefits of gulkand on the net and hence got some canned gulkand from the Pakistani store nearby. But unfortunately the taste was nothing as described by everyone. Infact to me it tasted more like sugar mixed with a tiny amt of rose flavoured jelly. Then my amma sent me this from India and got to admit that it tasted YUMMY! ;))
Tranfered the pouch contents into a plastic jar and had already eaten 3 tsbps of the stuff. I could literally taste the petals while eating this jam.
This stuff is really very addictive:)))
Recipe for beeda from Kitchenmate:)
Paati,
This brand we get here in us.
I buy vetrilai(paan) from india stores.
I mix a tblspn of gulgand, a pinch of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, elachi powders. Also i do add a pin of pan masala(from indian stores) and a tblspn of tutti frutti.
In the pan, apply some sunnambu and put this and wrap and enjoy this beeda.
This is perfectly close to the orginal ones paati and i always make it with the briyani meals. Awesome.
Thank you kitchenmate for the recipe:))
