Red hot chicken masala
Chicken- 250 gms( cut into bite sized pieces), tomato- 1(big) finely chopped, onion- 1, ginger- 1 inch piece, garlic- 3 cloves, coriander powder- 1 1/2 tsp, garam masala pwd- 1 tsp, dry red chillies- 6( depending on how spicy you want it to be), salt to taste, oil- 3 tbsp.
Grind together the onion, ginger, garlic & red chillies to a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan & fry the ground paste for a few minutes. Now add the tomato, coriander pwd, garam masala pwd, salt & the chicken pieces & stir till the chicken pieces are well coated with the masala. Add little water, just enough to cover the chicken pieces & cover & cook till the chicken pieces are cooked & the gravy has also thickened to the desired consistency.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves(though i forgot to add it!) & serve hot with chappatis, puris , sajje roti or aappams.A Nita mehta's recipe! I had this with chappatis for lunch!
Boy,was it hot! that i had to cool off with this!
Arun ice cream 'mango two in one delight'
Verdict: The chicken dish was very spicy, but delicious!
