Avvah's special uppu kozhi roast- A special recipe for my chinna thambi!

A special non veg recipe dedicated to you , knowing fully well your hatred for anything vegetarian! and to answer the doubts arising in the minds of my regular& faithful blog readers : no! no ! that is not the photo of the cooked dish!Though i am a self confessed foodoholic( refer previous post), i have not reached that stage yet!( you know what i mean?!) For the recipe photo please scroll further down! Sending you some avvah's special uppu kozhi roast from my place!And dont forget to share it with my kutti thambi!What? You are asking me whether i have the copyrights to publish the above photo? ofcourse!' the pujari' had already sold the copyrights to me a long time back!So wondering how do i know about' the pujari'? Well i have got my own underground sources or shall we say PBLyard!! ha, ha, ha! !
Recipe as follows:
Avvah's special uppu kozhi roast
Chicken - 200 gms, salt to taste, peppercorns- 2 tsp , coarsely crushed, ghee- 4 tbsp, cumin- 1/2 tsp, dry roasted & coarsely powdered ,turmeric pwd- 1/4 tsp, curry leaves- 5 , red chillies- 4.
In a pan heat ghee & season with the curry leaves & red chillies. Then add the rest of the ingredients & cook stirring continously for about 5 mins till the chicken is well browned on all sides. Now add some water ( just enough to cover the chicken pieces ) & cook till done.Garnish with coriander leaves & Serve hot with sambhar rice .

Hi Patti,
Your uppu kozhi roast looks very delicious.My mom always used to cook this type of roast chicken when i was young.going to try ur version this weekend .Thanx again
