Shallow fried fish roe ( Poritha meen senai)
Fried fish roe or senai is considered to be a delicacy among the seafood lovers. Fish roe is a good source of vitamin C, thiamin & folate, & a very good source of protein, vitamin E ( alpha tocopherol), riboflavin, vitamin B12, phosphorus & selenium. So here is a very simple pan fried recipe for fish roe. Just see to it that the fish roe is really fresh.Ingredients:
Fresh fish roe - 1 lobe, chilli powder - to taste, salt - to taste, oil - for shallow frying.
Method:
Marinate the fish roe with salt & chilli pwd. Heat oil in a non-stick pan & shall fry the fish roe over very low heat till it is well cooked inside & turns crispy & golden on the outside.
Slice & serve immeditely with sambar rice. But as it is with all good things, it is also loaded with cholestrol , so enjoy this dish maybe once a month if you are watching your cholestrol!!:)) Enjoy!!
